FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

[Tel Aviv, January 15, 2020] Fintech Week Tel Aviv, the leading Israeli fintech conference, will return for its fourth annual conference on February 9-12, 2020 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The conference brings together leading lights from a range of fintech hotspots and the broader financial services world to deliberate, share ideas, look at ways of working together and discuss the emerging trends and challenges likely to be at the forefront of the fintech industry in the coming years.

As we enter a new decade characterized by ever-increasing digitalization, the conference will be asking pertinent questions about the future of fintech. What lessons should we be incorporating from our collective, past experiences? Which business models will drive success? Will Infrastructure as a Service enter the fintech lexicon? Fintech Week will take a close look at these trends and more. The conference will look at the business models, explore platformisation, the rise of marketplaces and modular builds. There will be discussions on how disruptors will change the playing field for consumers and incumbents, and how financial professionals and corporations can stay relevant by disrupting themselves to meet consumers evolving needs.

Fintech Week Founder and Director Jonny Paul commented: “Over the last few years fintech has established itself as one of the fastest growing and most exciting industry sectors - you just need to look at the staggering level of investments made in 2018, which saw global investment double to $111.8bn.” Paul continued, “Our objective is to provide a forum for leading financial institutions, start-ups and fintech professionals to connect and map out the future of the financial industry together. The connections we have facilitated have already left their mark across the sector, and Fintech Week 2020 promises to be larger and more impactful than ever before.”

Fintech Week gives direct access to the Israeli ecosystem, key global players, and provides exposure to the very latest ideas and developments in fintech. Keynote speakers include Nick Cook, Director of Innovation at the FCA; Shachar Bialik, Founder and CEO of Curve, on the back of a recent $55m raise. Adam Toms, CEO of OpenFin Europe, following a $17m raise, and Founder and CEO of nsKnox Alon Cohen, renowned entrepreneur and founder of CyberArk. Dr Luca Marighetti, Head of Transformation at Swiss Re. will also be answering questions from Uzi Scheffer, CEO of SOSA as part of a fireside chat.

Open banking will be a major theme of discussion - an area of particular relevance following the recent adoption by Israeli regulators. The Bank of Israel, the Central Bank, will play an integral role at the conference, with financial organisations across the board considering the implications of open banking and the various strategic directions open to them.

The conference also boasts a host of exciting speakers from a number of cutting-edge companies, including Glassbox, Tink, Railsbank, Akoni, Personetics, Earnix, Fincom and Finasta. Other notable participants herald from Facebook, Salesforce, S&P Global and the Israeli National Cyber Directorate.

Meital Raviv, Director, Head of Fintech & Innovation at KPMG Israel, said: “The Israeli ecosystem stands out as the go-to market for any startup or incumbent looking for disruptive technology. Fintech Week Tel Aviv is the ideal platform for us to connect with the brightest minds in the industry. The diversity of attendees and plethora of companies represented makes Fintech Week Tel Aviv the perfect forum for discussing upcoming developments, assessing the latest innovations, and to gain new leads.”

The four-day conference will kick off with a Workshop day, hosted by Amazon Web Services, on February 9, followed by three days of exploration, deliberation and discussion. There will also be an array of evening events and Meetups to attend.
