Cook Children's The Blast was founded by Alexa Sankary to honor her friend Michael Mancuso who unfortunately passed away from neuroblastoma at the young age of 7. That was 15 years ago. Today, the annual walk continues to honor Michael’s memory and to help other children battling pediatric cancer. On April 2, Perrotti’s Pizza, Freaky Fast Home Buyers and Investments, and Kroh Exploration are sponsoring and participating in the event as well. All three companies are in the ALG Holdings Family, LLC of businesses.
The three companies have joined forces to walk together in the 5k. Their team is assembled of employees from each business, as well as the CEOs. In addition to competing in the 5k, Perrotti’s will be providing pizza, Freaky Fast is donating water, and Kroh Exploration will be donating money to the cause.
Why did these companies all come together to sponsor this event? Freaky Fast CEO Jason Engelmen said “My mom had cancer. Sitting in waiting rooms and seeing kids suffer hits real close to home. Letting them know there’s people in their corner and that they’re not alone is important to me.” Perrotti’s Pizza CEO Jeremy “JB” Yowell “It’s all about the kids. Anything we can do to enhance their quality of life I’m with 100%.” Kroh Exploration CEO Brett Kroh said “Anything that benefits the lives of children should be held paramount. We’re super excited to be a part of it.”
The Blast event takes place April 2, 2022 at Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth, TX. It kicks off at 9 AM with an opening program, then the walk, immediately followed by an awards presentation.
