Help Scudder Roofing and Scudder Solar spread holiday joy to local foster children by donating to a gift drive benefiting CASA's 13th Annual Gift of Giving.  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Marina, CA December 11th, 2020 — Citing the local community’s penchant for giving back, Pete Scudder is calling on fellow citizens and businesses to help spread holiday joy for CASA of Monterey County foster children through their 13th Annual Gift of Giving. CASA’s Gift of Giving allows children in foster care to select free gifts for the important people in their lives and lets them experience the joy of giving.
The Scudder team will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for all ages at their showroom in Marina, 3344 Paul Davis Drive, Monday-Friday from 7am-5pm. Gifts will be collected until 5pm, December 18th. All gifts will then be donated to CASA of Monterey County and distributed for their 13th Annual Gift of Giving.
“The holiday season is a time not only for giving, but for doing – especially in our community that embodies the spirit of hope for those in need,” said Pete Scudder, founder of Scudder Roofing and Scudder Solar. “This year has been a challenging one for all of us, but these kids need us, and I want to encourage everyone in the area to open their hearts and their pocketbooks for CASA’s foster children, and help make their holidays much, much happier.”
CASA of Monterey County trains and supports community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children placed in foster care. CASA’s (court-appointed special advocates) are a voice for foster children and work directly within the system to mentor, uphold the children’s rights and help each foster child pursue a safe, permanent home.
Gifts needed include items such as toys, make up sets, tool kits, home decor, sports equipment, games, etc. CASA will also happily accept gift cards including individual cards ($20 maximum) that will allow the children to purchase gifts themselves; or, larger gift card donations (no maximum), that will be used by CASA elves to shop for the perfect gifts for the Gift of Giving event.
To ensure CASA receives all donations in time, please drop off your gifts and/or gift cards to the Scudder showroom no later than December 18th at 5pm. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are following strict safety protocols and we kindly ask that you please wear a mask. All drop-offs will be as contact-free as possible.
