Georgia’s first Latina-owned film studio proud to represent the State FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Representatives from Playa Azul Media (PAM) Studios, LLC, a Latina-owned studio and media company, are attending an important event for Georgia filmmakers at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Jan. 26. The 4th annual Choose Georgia Party was designed to give Georgia film industry professionals a platform to promote the State at a national level.
PAM Studios is currently producing a reality TV series, “40 Akerz and a Brew” with Grammy-nominated hip-hop group, Nappy Roots. The series follows the group around the country as they explore the art of craft brewing while on tour and launch their own collaborative brews with specialty brewhouses. Culminating with the launching of their own tap rooms. Also in production is PAM Studios’ first feature film, “Palomino,” that tells the true story of Mexican immigrant and U.S. Army veteran Carlos Palomino’s overcoming poverty, discrimination and domestic abuse to become a world-champion and Hall of Fame boxer.
“The goal of PAM Studios is to portray and showcase cultures that aren’t represented accurately or respectfully today,” said PAM Studios CEO Maria Guerra-Stoll. “By attending the Choose Georgia event at Sundance, we hope to expand our reach, share some incredible perspectives attract a few new projects to PAM and, hopefully, bring even more of the film industry to Georgia.”
