Star-studded tailgate and networking event is open to fans of both teams FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
University of Georgia legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Champ Bailey is hosting "The Player's Reception" on Friday, Nov. 1 with University of Florida Legend Danny Wuerffel prior to the Bulldogs versus the Gators football game. The star-studded tailgate and networking event is open to fans of both teams and serves as a unique opportunity to meet legends from both teams for a fun-filled evening.
WHAT:
Pro Football Hall of Famer and UGA Legend Champ Bailey is joining forces with UF Legend Danny Wuerffel to host the ultimate fan experience prior to the Georgia-Florida game. Held Friday, Nov. 1 (the night prior to the big game), “The Players Reception” is a VIP hospitality experience prior to sporting events that connect fans with legends of the game. The catered event includes unlimited food and drinks for the duration of the four-hour event. In addition, there’s a cigar bar, live entertainment and a silent auction to benefit the Bailey Brothers Foundation and Desire Street Ministries. Party Shack USA is providing the ultimate tailgate experience with on-site suites that include air conditioning and televisions.
WHY:
The Players Reception is the only player-organized event that features high-level networking for alumni and fans to interact with prominent former players from both storied programs. The Players Reception provides an opportunity for former student-athletes to reunite with each other, as well as deepen their relationships with the school affinity networks. This event allows former players and alumni to explore ways to work together off the field.
WHO:
Numerous legends from each school are scheduled to join Bailey and Wuerffel at the event. In addition, Rennie Curran and Jarvis Jones – two of the 2019 Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Inductees – will be on hand signing autographs and taking photos. Bailey hosted The Players Reception in September, prior to the UGA / Notre Dame game earlier this season, where more than 60 alumni players attended the event, including fellow Pro Football Hall of Famers Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown and Emmitt Smith.

During Champ’s illustrious 15-year NFL career with the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins, he was selected to 12 Pro Bowls and played in Super Bowl XLVIII. At the conclusion of his junior year at the University of Georgia, he was awarded the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the nation's top defensive player. Boss and Ron also played football at the University of Georgia. Boss enjoyed a five-year NFL career, while Ron played professionally overseas.
