Today, Mary’s Center announced that they received a grant from the MAXIMUS Foundation in the amount of $12,000 to support efforts to meet the needs of under-resourced community members. The MAXIMUS Foundation, which identifies and awards grants to local community organizations that aid child and youth development, as well as health and community support, selected Mary’s Center because of their dedication to promoting self-sufficiency and personal growth.
“Communities benefit when more of its members are engaged, encouraged, and supported.” said John Boyer, MAXIMUS Foundation Chairman. “Mary’s Center has a history of outstanding contributions in service to community development; their work reminds us that an inclusive community is a vibrant, productive community.”
Mary’s Center will use this grant for their wraparound services, which allow participants to augment the medical care they receive through accessing social support programs such as counseling, assistance for school and public benefits enrollment, health education, and health insurance navigation, all of which help participants take actions toward achieving good health and social stability.
“We are proud of our longstanding relationship with MAXIMUS,” said Maria Gomez, President and CEO of Mary’s Center. “With their support, we have been able to provide our community with increased resources and extend our impact in the region and the lives of those we serve.”
In addition to this grant, Mary’s Center has received several other contributions from the MAXIMUS Foundation in the past which has provided the organization with opportunities to increase their reach and strengthen the communities they have served for over thirty years.
