Baltimore, MD - Higher education alumni development and engagement professionals will make their way to Baltimore, MD on September 26th to attend the 2019 Social Media Conference on Alumni Engagement on the campus of The Johns Hopkins University.

Digital engagement and loyalty programs are nothing new in the higher education industry, with 88% of alumni groups using up to five loyalty programs to reach graduates. However, there are a limited number of conferences that focus specifically on the issue of digital and social engagement. The result is that there is an opportunity to educate the industry on how to more efficiently and effectively utilize social media to maximize alumni engagement and donations.

It’s because of this opportunity that the Johns Hopkins University Office of Alumni Relations has agreed to partner with SocialToaster, the leading alumni engagement platform, to host the first ever Social Media Conference on Alumni Engagement on September 26, 2019 at JHU’s historic Levering Hall.

“We have been working with alumni groups for years,” says Brian Razzaque, CEO of SocialToaster. “We noticed that there is a real hunger among these groups for knowledge on how they can use their program more effectively. We have the tools to provide that knowledge to help not just our clients, but the industry as a whole, make their giving campaigns more successful. And I think it is important to make that information accessible.”

Participants will have the chance to interview panelists, participate in workshops, and listen to and network with industry thought leaders. Planned speakers include Razzaque; Dr. Sean Carton, idfive chief strategist and founding Dean of Design and Media at Philadelphia University; Andrew M. Griffin, Director of Alumni Advocacy University of Maryland Alumni Association, with other notable figures from across the alumni development spectrum expected to confirm.
