It’s showtime: Frankenmuth Cheese Haus premieres Animated ‘World of Cheese’ performances June 22

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. June 13, 2019 – On Saturday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m., visitors to the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, 545 S. Main St., will have the opportunity to help celebrate the grand opening of the store’s new 74-foot Figurinespiel Tower and enjoy the premiere performance of “The World of Cheese,” an animated story about cheese making across Europe and the U.S. In addition, on June 22 afternoon those present will receive gift certificates, samples, free gifts, and MORE. The Cheese Trap food truck will also be there with their many specialty items.
The presentations will take place daily at 9am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm & 8pm, allowing visitors ample time to sightsee and shop at the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus and other nearby shops.

“The World of Cheese” features five children and their pets from around the world, sharing their stories about their countries and some fun facts about the cheeses produced there. They include:

• Sophie from Holland and her duck Lottie.
• Mario from Italy and his goat Gina.
• Jacob from Germany, Otto the pig and Peter the rabbit.
• Anna from Ireland, her lamb Molly and her dog, Finn.
• Michael from Frankenmuth and cow Betsey.

The ten-minute long story includes country-specific music and interactive moments with the audience geared to young and old guests alike. Photo and video opportunities add to the family-friendly experience.
The Cheese Haus, which offers more than 160 varieties of cheeses daily, is a top tourist destination for generations of travelers. To accommodate more visitors, the Cheese Haus expanded from its former 2,700 square feet to a new 16,000 square-foot Bavarian-themed building.

The new, expanded location offers more room for product sales and demonstrations. The second-floor tasting room/hospitality area will be able to accommodate groups, motor coach travelers and special events when completed. The new 74-foot onion dome tower houses the Figurinespiel daily performances, and – for those keeping ancient track of time – a fully-functional sundial.

The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus specializes in the production and sale of imported and domestic cheese with over 160 varieties. Cheese Haus artisans make homemade cheese spreads including garlic, horseradish, bacon, jalapeno, smoky jalapeno, fiery jalapeno, and a creamy blue cheddar spread. In-store, the staff also creates delicious specialty flavored cheeses including chocolate, chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, strawberry, and blueberry cheese. These many cheese options are complemented by an abundant variety of crackers, meat, mustards/sauces, craft beers, wine and gadgets galore. A special Cheese Haus team also runs the Cheese Trap food truck launched in the summer 2017.
