The first-ever national group of attorneys helping Alzheimer patients and their families has been formed. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
The National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer’s Planning (N3AP) recently held its inaugural Winter Conference in Orlando, FL. Among the founding attorney members from throughout the country was local elder care and estate planning attorney Terri Hilliard.
The new non-profit is the first of its kind to focus on preparing the public for Alzheimer’s and dementia, becoming a resource for elder care attorneys and the general public. Alzheimer’s currently affects some 5.7 million Americans and every 65 seconds someone develops the disease.
Hilliard said, “Alzheimer’s is an epidemic with no end in sight. In the United States, it’s the sixth leading cause of death and the costliest disease. There is no treatment and there is no way to prevent it, but we founded N3AP to bring awareness of Alzheimer’s to the legal community and general public through our years of experience, research, and exploration of the issues involved in helping affected families better plan for the outcomes.”
