The Board of Directors of Continental Engineering Corporation (CEC) have approved today the retirement of Mr. Ken Hung as President, and the appointment of Mr. Simon Buttery as CEC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 7th, 2019.
Mr. Ken Hung joined CEC in 1988. Before his appointment as President in 2007, Mr. Hung had assumed managerial roles related to the company’s finance, administration, and general management. Mr. Hung made significant contributions to the strategic business directives of the company and facilitated CEC’s transformation from a domestic construction contractor into an international corporate entity with operations across Asia. The Board of Directors acknowledges his 31-year tenure and outstanding contribution.
Newly appointed CEO, Mr. Simon Buttery, has over 35 years of professional experience in the engineering and construction sector. His experience in the international market includes the United Kingdom, the Middle East, North Africa, North America and the Caribbeans, with numerous leadership roles in major companies including Carillion plc, Tarmac plc, and Wimpey plc.
During his tenure as CEO of Carillion Canada and the Caribbean, Mr. Simon Buttery successfully grew the business and doubled turnover within five years. Prior to joining CEC, Mr. Simon Buttery’s most recent role was CEO of Carillion International, responsible for the management of more than 15,000 employees in its operations in North America, the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Simon Buttery also has solid experience in engineering and construction projects, leading numerous Design and Build projects, specializing in large-scale commercial development.
