Way.com, the Silicon Valley based marketplace for services, has partnered with Long Beach Transit to launch a new travel planning and mobile ticketing app – the Long Beach Transit App. With a tap on their phones, LBT customers can now buy digital tickets anytime, track purchase history, and search transit routes.
"Today, I can hail a ride, coordinate carpool, and rent a scooter with a few taps within an app. I should be able to do the same with buses," said JR Anciano, Senior Director of Business Development at Way.com, "Our new app makes it easier for customers to purchase tickets and help LBT stay competitive in an era when transportation options are abundantly available and more easily accessible than ever before."
Purchases by the LBT app can be made via Credit/Debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The app will also offer incentives to frequent customers, including exclusive deals and discounts at participating restaurants, bars, attractions, and other Long Beach locations.
LBT operators have been trained to accept LBT app digital tickets, and customer support is ready to help and answer any questions riders may have. The app is ready for download on both iOS and Android devices and can be found by searching 'Long Beach Transit' in the app store.
