Event Benefiting The Creative Coalition Honors Television Industry Leaders. Who Give Back - Presented by BBVA Compass FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Creative Coalition and Advocacy Honors announce today that Wendi McLendon-Covey (“The Goldbergs”), Sela Ward (“FBI”), Abigail Disney (“The Invisible War”), Mädchen Amick (“Riverdale”), and Bill Prady (“The Big Bang Theory”) are the honorees at the Fourth Annual Television Industry Advocacy Awards benefiting The Creative Coalition on Saturday, September 15th at French luxury hotel Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Additionally, Marjory Stoneman Douglas students and SHINE songwriters Andrea Peña and Sawyer Garrity will be honored and will perform their song at the event. It was also announced today that TCL North America, America’s fastest growing TV brand, has joined as an Advocacy Honors sponsor for the 2018 Awards.
The event honors leaders of the television industry who effectively use their voices for social cause. Additional honorees, presenters and attendees will be announced in the coming weeks.
BBVA Compass, one of the top 25 financial institutions in the U.S., will serve as a presenting partner of the event for the third consecutive year as part of its own commitment to creating opportunities in the communities it serves. They will also present their Creating Opportunities Award at the event.

Wendi McLendon-Covey will be honored for her work with WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills to empower teen girls.
Sela Ward will receive the Creating Opportunities Award presented by BBVA for Hope Village for Children, which provides specialized treatment programs, services and facilities to meet the needs of neglected and abused children and their families.
Abigail Disney will be recognized for her work on behalf of The Daphne Foundation, an organization that empowers community residents affected by poverty, violence and discrimination to result in a more equitable, fair and peaceful New York City.
Mädchen Amick will be honored for her charity work with The National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI NYC), whose mission is to help individuals and families affected by mental illness build better lives through education, support and advocacy.
Bill Prady will be honored for his ongoing support of The Big Bang Theory Scholarship Endowment, founded by Chuck Lorre, a UCLA fund that provides financial aid to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields.
