A recent Gartner report lists Pimcore among vendors providing CaaS (Content as a Service) solutions. The report titled, “Use Content as a Service to Support a Unified Experience Strategy for Digital Commerce” focuses on the need for eCommerce businesses to go beyond the content management abilities provided by their digital commerce platforms.

According to the report, digital commerce enterprises are already looking at options to better manage their customer-facing content, by decoupling content presentation from its management. With the number of channels and devices for customer interaction growing well beyond websites, the content delivered to customers’ needs to be highly personalized and contextualized.
As digital commerce businesses continue to struggle with dissemination and management of siloed content, there’s a strong need to consolidate multiple silos into one cross-channel service, to uphold consistency and continuity of experience.

That’s because creation, management and delivery of content via a headless CMS (front-end framework agnostic) approach can be utilized by digital experience platforms (DXPs) and personalization engines to generate enticing customer experiences.
The report further states that existing CaaS vendors are emerging from a variety of domains, such as digital asset management (DAM), product information management (PIM), pure-play headless API-based content management systems as well as ‘traditional’ web content management (WCM) applications.
