FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Shopping to the middle east is like a culture, wherein to some it may be a means to accumulate necessary household items, while some prefer it to be something more than a pastime activity. An aspect that has differentiated Union Coop from others is its ‘flexibility’ in catering to a wide array of the audience over the years, a quality that made it ‘the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE’.
Speaking about the changes he has experienced over the years, Mr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department said, “The advent of modernization and internet has led to a paradigm shift in the art of shopping, which is why we have two kinds of shoppers now. The first one is our traditional shopper who prefers to visit the commercial outlet and buy whatever he needs. Whereas, the second type of shopper prefers to browse e-commerce portals as he or she is much more reliant on technology.”
“Over the years, we have adopted a flexible strategy that caters to both types of shoppers or consumers. Union Coop provides attractive offers and promotions throughout the month, including religious and national events, promotes the same by broadcasting messages through multiple modern media channels. Union Coop stores products in adequate quantities, so as to ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers, especially during promotions wherein we’re used to receiving unimaginable crowd,” explained al Bastaki
Talking about assisting consumers in controlling their shopping spent, al Bastaki said, “Union Coop’s Afdhal Card, which is a premium pre-paid card designed for people who control their shopping spent altogether. Union Coop customers can keep a check on their spending every time they shop and recharge every month accordingly. This card in a long run helps them control their shopping expenses to a great extent.”
“Union Coop has launched an e-shopping website ‘https://www.unioncoop.ae/’ that allows consumers to shop online, and access a wide range of products, electronics, branded household appliances, food and non-food products at competitive prices. Very soon we will be incorporating the Arabic language as well to facilitate flawless online shopping experience for various nationalities of the country.
