Remington College Memphis Campus offers new Culinary Diploma Program


New program now enrolling. Students are given the opportunity to learn restaurant management, nutrition, event planning, and small business management skills.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 31, 2018) – Remington College Memphis Campus is expanding its offerings to students with its new Culinary Skills Essentials diploma program.1 Enrollment is now open and classes start soon.

This program provides training in safety and sanitation as well as hands-on experience working in an instructor-supervised kitchen. Students are given the opportunity to learn restaurant management, nutrition, event planning, and small business management skills.

The diploma program typically takes eight months for full-time students to complete2 and is designed to prepare students for a number of entry-level positions in the food service industry.3

When all program requirements are completed, graduates will receive a Diploma in Culinary Skills.

Courses include:
• Cooking Fundamentals 1 and 2
• Garde Manger
• Cooking Methods 1 and 2
• Food Vendor Fundamentals
• Bake Shop

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need for food preparation and serving occupations is expected to grow by 9 percent from 2016 to 2026, which is a gain of about 1.2 million jobs.
