McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announces the promotion of Bobby Campbell as the Atlanta market business unit leader for the firm’s recently formed Southern Region. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. announces the promotion of Bobby Campbell as the Atlanta market business unit leader for the firm’s recently formed Southern Region. Campbell is taking the reins from 36-year McCarthy veteran, Kevin Kuntz. Kuntz is assuming the role of AGC Georgia president for the next 12 months. He will serve in an advisory capacity to Campbell throughout the next year, before retiring in July 2019.
Prior to this promotion, Campbell served as the vice president of preconstruction over McCarthy services in the Texas market. When the firm created the Southern Region in late 2017, combining McCarthy Texas and Southeast operations (Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee), Campbell began oversight of preconstruction for the entire region. Campbell joined McCarthy in 2011 and has played a major role in building the preconstruction teams in Houston and Dallas. Prior to joining McCarthy, Campbell began his career in Atlanta, working for a large general contractor and, over the course of his career there, worked throughout the Southeast.
“I am excited to be back in Atlanta, where my career began, and reconnect with colleagues, trade partners and clients. The market in Atlanta continues to be strong and I am looking forward to building on McCarthy’s legacy of serving our clients and partners well,” said Campbell.
Campbell is involved with The ACE (architecture, construction, engineering) Mentor Program and the American Subcontractor Association (ASA). He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering. Campbell and his family are in the process of relocating to Atlanta.
“We are excited to announce this leadership change and welcome Bobby as our new Atlanta business unit leader. His practical knowledge in the field and proven experience in growing high-performance teams make him a strong addition to the McCarthy Atlanta market,” said McCarthy’s Southern Region President Ray Sedey.
