entegra technologies inc. announces the appointment of Scott J. Boxer to its board of advisors. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
entegra technologies inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott J. Boxer to its board of advisors. Boxer is an internationally recognized leader in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry (HVAC).
“I couldn’t be happier to join as an advisor to entegra technologies,” said Boxer. “I think there is a vast opportunity for the company in the industrial space. The commercial HVAC and other similar industrial industries are becoming much ‘smarter’ with the ability to remotely connect and manage assets, both legacy and new, across complex networks. While this innovation improves efficiency and profitability for businesses, it also presents the opportunity for security threats on the network. That’s where entegra technologies plays a critical role.”
Boxer retired as president and chief executive officer from Service Experts Inc. in May 2017 after leading company’s acquisition in what many called the “deal of the year.” Boxer has a 30-year track record of leading $40 million to $1.4 billion businesses to achieve turnaround, growth and profitability.
Retail giant Target’s initial intrusion into the system was traced back to stolen credentials related to their HVAC vendor. With a total price tag of over $200M and a recent payment of $18.3 million to settle claims in 47 states, this breach demonstrates the vulnerabilities and risks associated with these industrial control systems. Boxer’s appointment brings entegra deep expertise that is critical to solving this ever-growing exposure throughout the HVAC industry.
“Scott’s appointment to our board is extremely strategic to the growth of entegra technologies,” said CEO Nancy Shemwell. “entegra offers cyber-protection for the industrial HVAC market and Scott’s expertise will help us reach customers who can benefit from our solution. He can provide us the insight needed to help meet their security requirements as well as metrics to quantify the problems of these stakeholders. Scott’s experience in spearheading rapid growth for high-tech businesses is also extremely helpful.”
Boxer retired as president and chief executive officer of Service Experts Inc. in 2017, after helping close the sale of the organization in 2016 to Toronto-based EnerCare, a residential and commercial heating and air conditioning services company. Prior to this acquisition, Boxer emerged from retirement in 2013 to head Service Experts Inc. as president and chief executive officer to turn the business around and grow profitability. He partnered with American Capital Ltd., a publicly traded private equity firm, to lead the buy out of Service Experts Inc. from Lennox International Inc. Prior to the original buy-out, Boxer served from 2003 to 2010 as president and chief operating officer of Service Experts. Previously, he served as president of Lennox Industries from 2000 to 2003. Before joining Lennox, Boxer spent 26 years at York International Corporation (now part of Johnson Controls). He holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from the University of Rhode Island, which inducted him into its College of Engineering Hall of Fame in 2005.
This appointment as well as recent announcements of other world-renowned cyber experts joining entegra’s advisory board - Bob Bigman, former CIA Chief Security Officer, and Harel Menashri, of Israel Defense Forces - dramatically enhances entegra’s thought leadership enabling the company to continue to develop relevant, state of the art cyber protection.
