Lifelong resident Julie Vari is living her dream of helping Pittsburghers stay gorgeous.
Julie Vari is proud to announce the grand opening of JVH salon in the Sola Strip District Salon. JVH is one of pioneering salons to set up shop in the innovative Strip District collective.
Julie Vari, Owner of JVH, has trained in some of the most cosmopolitan cities of the world, but Pittsburgh is the city of her heart, and she never wanted to live anywhere else.
“Pittsburgh was the only place I ever wanted to open my own salon,” says Julie Vari, Owner of JVH. “This is my dream come true. I love this city, the people, the history, and the incredible, booming restaurant scene. Pittsburgh is so amazing, just stunning and unique, and filled with opportunity. There was never anywhere else I wanted to be. Pittsburgh is my home, and I want to make it beautiful."
JVH offers services for both men and women including haircuts, hair coloring, highlights, balayage, Brazilian blowouts, facial waxing, makeup application, and all wedding and special event services. A devoted animal lover, Julie only uses hair and makeup products which are guaranteed cruelty free. The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday. "It's all about communication," Julie Vari, Owner of JVH stresses. "I love to do everything from extreme makeovers to simple trims, but I want my clients to be totally informed before we even begin. Crazy ideas are fun, but multiple processes can ruin hair. Nobody wants that. There is also the cost to consider. So, talking is essential. I want them to be able to make informed decisions, and most importantly, I want them to love the results!"

With over twenty years of experience, Julie Vari is a master of her craft. She began her career at the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy where she earned her cosmetology license. She honed her craft at Vidal Sassoon Academies in Los Angeles, New York, London, and Chicago, and was an educator for Nioxin and Eugene Perma. She has also trained in Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Miami. Her color education includes Redken color training, Beth Marardi color techniques, Alfa Parf color and cutting techniques.
When not at JVH, Julie loves to spend time with her most favorite person in the world, her mother, and her adopted rescue dog, Ilean. A pop culture aficionado and lover of all things Halloween, she has attended conventions all across the country. She and her husband Joel make it their goal to travel when they can and have explored distant corners of the world together.
