The conditions are daunting for any home buyer. For first time buyers, the situation adds stress to a process that can already seem overwhelming. To overcome the hurdles, an increasing number of prospective buyers are turning to home buying seminars for information, education and guidance.
“Attendance is up,” says Ryan Gable, founder of StartingPoint Realty. “We’ve been offering free first-time home buying seminars since 2004. The first weeks of 2018 have brought some of the strongest turnout we’ve ever seen. During January alone, we had 104 people learn about the home buying process.”

While home buying tips are available online, Gable says the seminars offer a true education. “We can teach you more in two hours than you could probably research on your own over several weeks. It’s an immersive experience, but a social one, too.”
