FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RiseSmart announced that David Chapman, a finance veteran with over fifteen years of multinational and venture-backed organization experience, has joined the company as its new CFO. Chapman will lead RiseSmart’s finance, accounting, and human resources teams, providing strategic financial planning and guidance as RiseSmart continues to expand its contemporary career transition operations globally.
“I am delighted to welcome David to RiseSmart. He joins our team at a time when we’re actively expanding, both domestically and globally. His international experience and strategic guidance will be invaluable toward helping us achieve our corporate goals,” said RiseSmart President and CEO Sanjay Sathe.
Prior to joining the RiseSmart team, Chapman served as the vice president of finance at Thomson Reuters, an $11 billion information technology and solutions company. He spent eight years in a variety of executive finance roles supporting SaaS and content businesses across the world, and most recently partnered with the chief technical officer of Thomson Reuter’s $1 billion Global Growth Organization to develop software solutions and professional services for emerging market clients.
Chapman has also served as the vice president of finance at Realtime Worlds, a venture-backed online entertainment company, where he was responsible for managing global financial, accounting, human resources, legal, and real estate operations. Chapman began his career at Ford Motor Company and Verizon Communications, and earned his Master of Business Administration in finance and management from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
“I’m thrilled to be joining RiseSmart at this exciting time,” said Chapman. “I look forward to bringing my international business and strategic financial experience to the team as we continue to disrupt the career transition industry in both innovation and results.”
“As David transitions into his new position as CFO, Daniel Davenport, executive vice president global operations and former CFO, will now be able to focus all his energy and expertise on RiseSmart’s global initiatives,” said Sathe. “I am very thankful to Dan for being at the helm of our financial operations since inception and for guiding RiseSmart to a strong financial position.”
