FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WHAT: On Wednesday, April 13th, 2016, Beat Brasserie, located in Cambridge, MA, presents a tribute to iconic American blues guitarist and singer Albert King with cuisine, libations and live entertainment. Part of the Blues Legend Series, from 8:00PM to 11:30PM Boston guitarist and vocalist Ricky “King” Russell will take the stage for an evening of performance dedicated to the beloved musician.

Albert King, known as “The Velvet Bulldozer” by many, was a powerful and influential force in the American Blues world. Recognized as one of the “Three Kings of Blues Guitar,” along with B.B King and Freddie King, Albert was famed for his string-bending style and his soulful vocals. His single “Born Under a Bad Sign” from 1969 is widely regarded as a timeless staple of Blues.
Beginning at 8:00PM Ricky “King” Russell will take the stage for a night celebrating Albert and his work. Russell, one of the blues’ most seasoned performers and brightest talents, will honor the life and the influence of King through a passionate tribute performance. In these days of sampled and computer-generated music, it is refreshing to hear music the way it is meant to be played – honestly and with soul!

While enjoying the music, guests are welcome to a full dinner with selections such as Shrimp & Grits with tomato and fennel ($13), Bison Bolognese with pappardelle pasta and shaved parmesan ($22), and Baby Back Pork Rib Dinner with sweet chili sauce whipped potatoes and slaw ($24.50). Pair the meal with one of the 36 artisanal American wines on tap from the Beat’s state-of-the-art tap system including exclusive selections such as the Stephen Ross, Chardonnay (2013) or the Dancing Coyote, Petite Sirah “Clarksburg” (2012).
