FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT

Hollister Creative, a marketing and graphic design firm based in Wynnewood, Pa., has again won national recognition for writing and design for senior citizens.

Hollister won a silver award, two bronzes and a merit award in the 2012 National Mature Media Awards competition, for the Milestones newspaper it produced for Philadelphia Corporation for Aging.

The competition recognizes “the nation’s best marketing, communications, educational materials and programs for older adults,” according to the Mature Market Resource Center, in Libertyville, Ill. The 2012 competition honored materials produced in 2011.

This year’s awards mark the 10th year in a row that Hollister has been recognized for excellence in the Mature Media competition. The company has won five silver and gold awards in the last four years
This year a silver award was earned by the October Nostalgia column, “A Slip of the Lip Will Sink a Ship,” by Dorothy Stanaitis in the Article category in the Community Organizations Division.

The May issue, with a theme to “Celebrate Arts and Aging,” won a bronze in the Newspaper/Tabloid (Publications/Editorial) category in the Community Organizations Division.

Also winning a bronze — in the Article category in the Media division — was “10 Free Ways to Make Healthy Eating More Fun,” by Rick Nichols, in the June issue. Nichols is a former food writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
A merit award in the Photograph category of the Media division went to Jim Greipp’s March photo of Madeline DiPasquale for the article “She Cares for Historic Mansions … Ghosts and All,” by Constance Garcia-Barrio.
The editor of the award-winning entries for Milestones was Don Harrison, a longtime editor for the Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia Bulletin before joining Hollister Creative in 2001. The graphic designer for Milestones was Hollister art director Heidi Karl.
