The all-organic greens line introduces a classic French salad mix to grocery stores this October

San Diego, CA (August 17, 2012)—This fall, organicgirl® good clean greens will be adding its own French flair to the organic greens category. The California-based company, known for its line of fresh, sustainable produce, will introduce its newest product vive la France, a classic French salad mix, to its line of products.
The vive la France mix, packaged in organicgirl’s 4.5-ounce clamshells, pairs mâche with baby chard, arugula and radicchio and is expected to be available at select grocery stores this fall.
“With rise in popularity overseas and increased usage in North American restaurants, along with its unmatched flavor and texture profile, we’re confident that mâche will add exponential growth to the premium salad category,” said Margaret Scattini, co-founder of organicgirl. “Incorporating the mâche rosettes in our vive la France mix is another significant step toward finding new ways to offer high-end organics to consumers.”
Mâche, an heirloom green known for its sweet and nutty flavor, is the core French ingredient in the new mix. A popular green in Europe, mâche is considered a high-end restaurant quality ingredient in the United States; where organicgirl is the largest grower of organic mâche rosettes.
“We really wanted the name to instantly communicate the ‘French flair’ that mâche is known for, but taking into account all the other tasty greens we’ve mixed in,” added Scattini. “Our packaging was also designed with France in mind; sporting the blue, white and red alongside the iconic la tour Eiffel.”
