Harper Wins Rookie Of The Month

Hawthorne, NJ – October 3, 2012 – Akadema endorser Bryce Harper earned the Rookie Of The Month Award for the month of September. This is Harper’s second Rookie Of The Month Award this year, having won it for May also. Harper hit .330, with an on-base percentage of .398, and an OPS of 1.049. Harper also had 11 walks, 7 home runs, led the Majors with 26 runs, and was second in the Majors in slugging percentage with .651. Harper lead NL Rookies in home runs with 7, and hits with 35. Harper is in second place for most home runs hit by a teenager in a season, behind Tony Conigliaro, who had 24 in 1964. Harper is batting .270, with 97 runs, 144 hits, 22 home runs, and 59 RBI’s. In 2010, Akadema signed the phenom to a long-term glove contract, in the same year he was selected as the first overall pick in the MLB draft. Harper uses a custom AMR 34 glove in the field.
