Seniors in the Chicago, Illinois, area may participate in clinical research trials to access new medications for various age-related illnesses.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Prescription medications for seniors are often one of the largest monthly expenses as they are not fully covered by Medicare health insurance. Age-related diseases often progress at different rates for each senior and new treatments often do not arrive soon enough.
Clinical research trials are conducted by drug companies to test their new medications. As every medication currently prescribed by medical doctors were at one time tested in a clinical trial, the opportunity to participate in one of the trials allows early access to a medication that just might work really well.
Chicagoland clinical trials offer access to top medical doctors and the newest medical treatments for issues ranging from memory loss, diabetes, heart disease, and even stress. Requirements vary, with confirmation of the medical condition as the first step. Some research trials also pay a fee for participation.
Caregiverlist’s Chicagoland Clinical Trial List Includes the following:
· Enrollment Deadlines (Some studies are open until filled)

Seniors with Alzheimer's disease in the Chicagoland area may participate in one clinical trial being conducted in Chicago and managed by Rush University Medical Center. This clinical trial consists of researching the effectiveness of Resveratrol – a compound found in the skin of red grapes – in patients who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and are age 50 or older. Contact information is available in the listing for those wanting to participate.
While currently available only in the Chicagoland area, the list of clinical trials will eventually be expanded to include trials in multiple states to be incorporated into Caregiverlist’s by-state information on www.caregiverlist.com.
