FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Northern Facilities, a premium adult care consortium located in the New York metropolitan area, is celebrating the 100th birthdays of 10 of the patients living in its Northern Riverview Center. Available online at http://www.NorthernServicesGroup.com, the NY rehab center network’s Northern Riverview center is drawing attention to its residents’ centennial birthdays as being demonstrative of its commitment to high-quality health care. Their longevity and lifestyle is supported in part by Northern Riverview’s array of long and short term rehab options, nursing home therapy programs, and its acute medical assistance.
“It’s wonderful to see that we currently host 10 residents over the age of 100 in our Northern Riverview facility – it brings joy to their peers, to the devoted staff members who care for them, and to our NYC nursing home community at large. Very recently, we celebrated the 100th birthday of one of our residents, and her family asked us if we could provide them with a room to hold a family party. The celebratory occasion was attended not only by the patient’s extended family– children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – but also by many of our staffers and patients, and we ended up having to host the party in a huge space. It was a memorable occasion,” said Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers for Specialty Care Group, Northern Facilities’ parent organization.
From a single building in 1981, Northern Facilities has expanded to include assisted living centers, several skilled nursing facilities, home care options, and a host of community outreach programs. No matter what a patient’s age happens to be, the care consortium seeks to foster self-advocacy and honor the dignity of all who utilize its facilities. Its specialized brand of nursing home therapy in particular is designed to keep patients fit and social.
“Our centenarian residents are so full of life and vivacity, and they set an example for the community at large. We encourage all of our residents to participate in our extensive recreational, community-oriented programs. It’s encouraging to see those over the age of 100 still exercising and being active, and our outreach-focused activities are, we think, a natural complement to our personalized medical care,” said Ken Rozenberg.
Northern Facilities’ recreational therapy options for assisted living patients include daily activities and events, trips into the community for shopping and local attractions, and group fitness programs. In-patient services are also available for those requiring daily medical assistance. Many of these services are similar to NYC rehab centers because they are designed to strengthen and renew basic motor skills. Care options include personalized physical, occupational and speech therapy; pain management; wound care; and a memory impairment Essentia care program. Skilled nurses are also present to facilitate a wide variety of sub-acute treatments such as kidney dialysis, ventilator dependent care, wound management and IV therapy. Northern Facilities also hosts respite care options, which bring basic essentials to a senior’s front door. Its SNAP initiative (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) transports freshly cooked glatt kosher foods to home-bound seniors living in Rockland County.
