The House of Dancing Water has opened in Macau following five years of development.
Italian-Belgian theatre director Franco Dragone, whose shows have been seen by more than 65 million people across the world, created the production for Macau's City of Dreams at a cost of $250 million (£159 million).
The show is set in a purpose-built theatre featuring a swimming pool that holds 3.7 million gallons of water - equivalent to five Olympic-sized pools.
According to the promoters, The House of Dancing Water is an epic love story complete with dazzling costumes, breathtaking special effects and acts that have never been seen before in a theatre setting.
Describing the production, Dragone said: "My ambition is to contribute to the emergence of a new kind of show, which isn't a circus, or opera, or a musical, but a little of all of them."
Visitors to Macau can currently book tickets for performances of The House of Dancing Water up to Sunday September 30th.
Each performance lasts for 85 minutes with no interval, with tickets ranging in price from HK$480 to HK$1,380 (£38 to £113).
