From looking at all that Shannon has accomplished in his life, from a professional wrestling announcer to the president of a national public relations firm, one would never know that he suffers from a debilitating and often life threatening disorder. Shannon recalls where it all started when, at the age of 14, he attended a wrestling match where the ring announcer didn't show, "they put a microphone in my hand and the rest is history."
Shannon has certainly defied all the odds and especially the grim prognoses from the doctors who said he wouldn't be able to do anything. From these life experiences, Shannon has made it his goal to inform and educate the public about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and provide inspiration to the children who have this disorder. "I want to be someone kids can look up to," Shannon says, "someone who conquered their fears and doctors saying we wouldn't be anything at all."
