The Manchester Mega Mela features two days of free entertainment celebrating south Asian culture.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Manchester Mega Mela, a huge annual celebration of south Asian culture, returns to the city next month.
Taking place in the green surroundings of Platt Fields Park on Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th, the festival will feature a programme of events that blends live music, poetry, street theatre, sport and Bollywood dancing.
More than 60,000 people traditionally attend the Mega Mela, which brings visitors of all cultures and religions to Manchester for two days of fun and entertainment.
The festival's main stage will once again be hosted by the BBC Asian Network, with some of the biggest names in UK Asian music expected to perform.
In addition, the popular Mega Mela fashion show is set to showcase the creations of two leading local designers.
Entrance is completely free on both days and visitors can look forward to an extensive selection of food stalls offering a range of south Asian dishes, as well as traders selling clothing and jewellery.
Platt Fields Park, located in the Rusholme area, is a short journey from Manchester city centre by bus or taxi.
