Named Artist of Distinction by Still Point Art Gallery, artist Peggy Martinez will appear in the gallery's magazine.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Watercolorist, Peggy Martinez, known for her magnificent paintings of flowers, is featured in the summer issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly, an international art and literary magazine.
Peggy Martinez was named an Artist of Distinction for work she submitted for a virtual exhibition in Still Point Art Gallery in 2011. Martinez was offered the opportunity to have her work featured in the gallery’s publication.
Martinez’s portfolio, Happenstance, is composed of a series of “‘up-close and personal’” flower paintings. Her passion is to paint flowers and to show the world the inner beauty of the delicate gifts from the earth. Her passion became known, because one day she discovered, “by happenstance, that I was being called the ‘Flower Artist,’ and that was it. I was baptized!” Martinez says.
Martinez lives in Rochester, New York, where she was born, although spending much of her childhood living in Puerto Rico. Raising a family as a single mother, she didn’t have time for art until her children were grown. Now Martinez exhibits widely and teaches watercolor techniques to others. She is an associate member of the National Watercolor Society.
Still Point Arts Quarterly is available for purchase at Barnes & Noble and other select bookstores throughout the U.S. and Canada. |
