York Carnival offers a day of live entertainment organised by the city's university.

York Carnival returns to the city on Saturday June 16th this year, with plenty of live music and entertainment lined up for those in attendance.
Organised by a committee of students from the University of York, the carnival will feature a colourful parade through the city headed by York Samba that begins at 12:15 BST.
The event aims to integrate the activities of the university with members of the local community, so the many acts and performers who take part are drawn from both the campus and elsewhere in York.
North Yorkshire-based rock band My Forever are also due to appear at this year's Carnival, having recently seen their debut single Silken Butterflies named record of the week on BBC Radio 1.
More performances will take place in St Sampson's Square, including displays of juggling and drumming, as well as interactive workshops for both children and adults.
The carnival's main stage is due to host live entertainment from dancers and DJs until 20:00.
