Bali's Ganesha Gallery will host an exhibition of canvas paintings by Dutch artist Marijke Lambregtse from June 7th to July 30th 2012.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Ganesha Gallery in Bali will be opening a new exhibition called Lost and Found this June, showcasing the work of the acclaimed Marijke Lambregtse.
Running from June 7th to July 30th, the show will feature a number of evocative canvas paintings by the Dutch artist, which reveal much about Balinese culture and the human condition in general.
Lambregtse began her artistic career in the Netherlands as a dancer and choreographer before successfully crossing over into painting during the 1990s, with the artist now dividing her time between Australia and Bali.
Her Lost and Found show explores two key themes, the first of which pertains to environmental protection issues, specifically as they affect Bali.
The paintings will also examine themes of femininity and the positive role women - in the artist's view, the "pillars of society" - can play in driving societal change.
Lambregtse's work will be exhibited daily at the Ganesha Gallery between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 local time.
The venue is known for showcasing a wide variety of art that explores different aspects of Balinese culture from various perspectives.
