Acclaimed musicians from around the world will play at the 2012 Manila Music Festival alongside popular Filipino acts.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
The first ever Manila Music Festival will take place on May 1st 2012, bringing top international acts to the Aseana Avenue venue in Paranaque.
Developed by Volume Unit Entertainment and the Philippine Department of Tourism, the festival aims to establish Manila as one of Asia's top music destinations, while showcasing local performers to a wider audience.
This year, headline acts include the likes of Afrika Bambaataa of Zulu Nation, known as the "father of electro-funk sound", as well as Japanese house musician Shinichi Osawa and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest.
They will be ably supported by a wide array of local acts, including June Marieezy, Angelo Mendez, Liquid A, Similar Objects, SkratchMark, Katsunami and many more.
Visitors to the event are encouraged to turn up in carnival-inspired fancy dress, taking inspiration from colourful UK festivals like T in the Park and Bestival.
Tickets for the Manila Music Festival cost 1,500 pesos (£21.70) when booked in advance or 2,000 pesos at the door, while discounts are also available for group bookings.
