For the fifth year in a row, 2006 AT thru-hiker "Windtalker" will be bringing his entertaining and relaxing style of music to the Appalachian Trail Festival, in Damascus, Virginia, on Saturday, May 19, 2012.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

From 10:00am to 10:45am, sit back and relax as "Windtalker" performs his unique and haunting style of contemporary Native American flute music, which he describes as "Native SoundScapes." The blending of Native American-style flute with lush orchestration and Native percussion weaves a musical tapestry perfectly suited for a celebration of the wilderness and the Appalachian Trail.

"Windtalker" will be performing compositions from his CDs, "Native SoundScapes," and the recently-released, "Canyon Whispers." Each song melodically captures the breathtaking beauty of the Appalachian Mountains as well as musically honoring Native cultures and the eternal influence they have always had on this land. “Windtalker” has also added several classic rock songs that are sure to get your feet tapping. Come hear songs like "Purple Rain" and "Unchain My Heart" as only "Windtalker" can perform them.

For years, "Windtalker" has been bringing this special brand of music to festivals, state and national parks, coffee houses, wineries, schools, churches, private parties and other intimate venues. He was also the guest performer for a moonlight tour held by the National Park Service at New Mexico's Pueblo Bonito ruins at Chaco Canyon National Historical Park. He now brings his wonderful show back to the Appalachian Trail Festival.

This mini-concert will be held in front of the Mount Rogers Outfitters Hostel, across the street from Mount Rogers Outfitters, 110 Laurel Avenue, Damascus, VA 24236. For more information and directions, visit, http://www.traildays.us.
