The Shayler Foundation will be hosting, in association with The Crescent Arts Centre, an International Women’s Day Exhibit and Lecture to raise awareness and funds for our Safe Birthing Project aimed at improving maternal health in Uganda.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The exhibit will include speakers Malachi O’Doherty and Maria Andreana Deiana, as well as the premier of Dr. Barbara Renzi’s documentary titled BELFAST: YOU NEVER KNOW, WOMEN'S VOICES. It offers a view of Belfast from the eyes of foreign women. In addition, the event will include an art auction from local artists, as well as serving food and drinks.
The International Women’s Day Exhibit and Lecture is taking place on 24 March 2012 in Belfast, it is being held in celebration of women’s human rights and motherhood. The event will benefit The Shayler Foundation’s Uganda: Survivor’s Initiative Programme.
“I am organizing this art exhibit in an effort to raise needed funds for Uganda: Survivor’s Initiative’s Safe Birthing Project. The mission to help women in developing countries prevent avoidable medical complications during pregnancy, and aid with the delivery of a healthy baby goes a long way to set both mother and baby on a healthier path”, said Aubrey Shayler, CEO of The Shayler Foundation.
Sponsorships are being sought on various levels and for many aspects of the event. For more information or to volunteer, please visit the website: http://theshaylerfoundation.org.uk.
