From 7:00pm to 9:00pm, recording artist and author, Randy "Windtalker" Motz, will be celebrating the release of his new CD, “Canyon Whispers,” with a performance of his unique and haunting style of contemporary Native American flute music, which he describes as “Native SoundScapes.” The blending of Native American-style flute with lush orchestration and Native percussion, weaves a musical tapestry that creates a warm and soothing ambiance perfectly suited for an evening of relaxation, coffee, and food. What a great way to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day with your significant other!
During the entire performance, dramatic photos from his and his wife’s travels are projected on a large screen onstage. “Windtalker’s” music becomes the soundtrack for these photos, taking the listener on a soothing, and sometimes playful, journey through the grandeur of this country’s varied landscapes. Each song melodically captures the essence of the iconic cultural landmarks and mystical landscapes of the Southwest and the breathtaking beauty of the Appalachian Mountains. As well, “Native SoundScapes,” musically honors Native cultures and the eternal influence they have always had on this land.
For years, “Windtalker” has been bringing this special brand of music to festivals, state and national parks, coffee houses, wineries, schools, churches, private parties and other intimate venues. He was also the guest performer for a moonlight tour held by the National Park Service at New Mexico’s Pueblo Bonito ruins at Chaco Canyon National Historical Park. He now brings his beautiful music to The Music café.
Beginning at 6:45, the first ten people to order a sandwich will receive their sandwich FREE.
