The Yorkshire city of Leeds is this coming November set to play host to one of the country's biggest distance running events.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
The Leeds Abbey Dash will take place on November 20th this year and will see thousands of additional visitors head into Leeds. With that in mind leading online hotel room comparison website DirectRooms.com is advising travellers and tourists to book Leeds city centre hotels well before arriving in town.
This year represents the 27th time the Leeds Abbey Dash will take place, and the race is expected to enjoy more runners taking part than ever. In excess of 8,000 runners will be heading into Leeds to test themselves against one of the most popular middle distance races in the country.
The format of the Leeds Abbey Dash is a 10 kilometre race along one of the flattest courses in all of British running. The event is staged for the benefit of charity Age UK, and many of the entrants raise money for the cause through sponsorship.
This year's Leeds Abbey Dash also features a junior event for the first time, with kids able to enjoy a fun run of 2 kilometres starting at the Headrow in central Leeds and finishing up at the city's Town Hall.
Entrance fee per runner is £17.50 and there are corporate team places available for companies who wish to enter.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head of hotel room website DirectRooms.com, commented, The hotels in downtown Leeds will be pretty busy as runners look to find places to stay close to the finishing line! We advise people to book well in advance of arriving if they want to get a hotel room somewhere near Leeds Town Hall.
