Right2Know raises awareness of the genetically engineered foods labeling campaign. Kiwaii supports a consumer's right to know exactly where a product originates from and what is in it.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
October 4, 2011- Hellertown PA- Kiwaii True Spring Water announced their support for the Right2Know March being held on October 1-16, 2011, from New York to Washington DC. The march will champion Americans' right to know what is in the products they purchase and consume, and will raise awareness of the genetically modified organisms (GMO) labeling campaign. For example, many consumers don't know that 80% of the packaged foods in America contain genetically engineered ingredients but are not labeled with that information.
Genetically engineered foods have not been proven safe. GMO plants have been genetically altered to grow in broader conditions and to withstand pests and toxic weed killers. Biotechnology companies have lobbied against labeling products containing their patented plants—plants which are specially designed to withstand spraying with cancer-causing weed-killers, and plants which produce their own pesticides in every one of their cells.
"We support a consumer's right to know exactly where a product originates from and what is in it. That is why we fully disclose the name and location of our natural spring source and we publish our full water analysis on our website." said Lou Savant, President & CEO of Premium Healthy Spring, the manufacturer of Kiwaii True Spring Water from New Zealand. "Many other water brands today are not completely honest about the source of their water or what is in it. They say it is pure, which is very subjective. Water analysis are the ingredients, consumers have a right to know what's in the water they drink.”
"Water is the most important nutrient the body needs. Our bodies store more water than any other substance, it is only logical that people should drink water that is free from harmful contaminants known to pollute water sources every day. We support full disclosure, and that is what the Right2Know movement is all about."
From October 1-16, 2011, marchers from all across the country will walk from New York City to the White House in Washington DC, demanding labeling of all genetically engineered foods, in what has come to be called the GMO Right2Know March. The march includes daily events between its kickoff in New York City and its finale at the White House, in Washington, DC.
