From 6th until 9th April this year fans of crime thriller writing and detective fiction can enjoy meeting their heroes and learning some of the tricks of the trade at Sleuth! The English Riviera Crime & Thriller Festival.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Not for nothing is Torquay known as England's Riviera, offering as it does picturesque coastline, bracing walks along the seafront and classic historic architecture. With fans of thriller writing, from Dashiell Hammett to Agatha Christie, expected in town for the event, the availability of cheap Torquay hotels is sure to be tested.
Some of contemporary crime fiction's biggest names will be in attendance to speak to guests, with names like Robert Goddard, Bernard Knight, Belinda Bauer and Jane Casey on show. The event will also offer guests the chance to see the classic Sherlock Holmes movie 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' in its original format.
Tickets for the event can be had from Torquay and nearby Paignton Libraries and prices range from £3.50 to £25.00 for the charity dinner evening with Professor Bernard Knight entitled 'Getting Away with Murder'. The Bijou Theatre Company will also be performing John Buchan's classic thriller 'The 39 Steps'.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com says: “The hotels of Torquay and Torbay are traditionally busy in the spring time so we do advise people heading down for the crime thriller events to book in advance. This fun weekend seems to grow in popularity year on year and the 2011 event looks like being bigger than ever."
