Ruud Lighting to present cutting edge LED lighting solutions at Light Middle East 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
As concern grows worldwide about rising energy costs and the need for ecologically conscious solutions that are easy on the environment, there is increasing realisation of the advantages of harnessing ‘green technolo-gies’ to effect great cost benefits to the consumer.
Research findings estimate, that switching to energy-efficient solutions in street lighting systems alone can save up to AED 57 billion in lighting bills globally and potentially eliminate about 258 metric tones of carbon dioxide emissions.
“Street lighting is just a case in point of the huge savings potential that exists in adopting new technology into existing systems,” said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Light Middle East 2010, the region’s premier networking and trade platform for urban, architectural, theatrical and retail lighting solutions.
“The majority of existing street lighting still uses old technology - some as old as the 1960s high pressure mercury lamp systems. By switching to modern and more efficient systems like LED technology, energy bills can be drastically reduced and carbon emissions minimised,” Pauwels added.
Leading manufacturers and industry leaders in new technonogy will be exhibiting the latest in cutting edge lighting solutions at Light Middle East 2010, being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 31 to November 2.
Ruud Lighting, global leaders in LED technology and design and one of the lead sponsors of Light Middle East, will present lighting solutions that are designed to meet the needs of consumers in the Middle East, a region that is driving growth in demand for lighting products thanks to the continuing construction boom in the cash rich economies of the area.
Among Ruud’s product line on display during Light ME, will be their latest LED lighting division – BetaLED. The range focuses on exterior lighting products and innovations including those for street lighting, area and pathway lighting, illumination for parking structures, specialised tunnel lighting, flood lights and security and perimeter lighting among others.
Alan J. Ruud, Chairman and C.E.O. Ruud Lighting Inc, USA said energy savings from LEDway streetlights, for typical street lighting applications will generally save 40-60% energy compared to traditional products. LEDway fixtures provide significantly longer life ratings with near zero maintenance that saves significant costs over time. With reduced energy and maintenance costs, LEDway streetlights deliver lower total cost of ownership, freeing up money for other capital expenses.
Mr Ruud will present on ‘How green are you: A focus on street lighting’ during the ‘Green ME: What makes you Green’ conference running on Day 1 of the event and co-organised by Sesam Business Consultants.
Light Middle East is the only dedicated lighting platform in the region and brings together architects, develop-ers, consultants, lighting design specialists, and local civil and government representatives to source new products and study the latest innovations from lighting manufacturers, distributors, and lighting design firms.
The show will also feature a three-day conference programme focusing on the latest developments and concerns in the worldwide industry with ‘innovation and sustainability in design’ being the overriding theme.
