Award recognizes high ethics, integrity and academic accomplishments
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Connecticut Better Business Bureau is now accepting entries for the sixth annual CT BBB Student Ethics Scholarship Award. The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship to go towards attendance at an accredited college or university of his or her choice.
The award recognizes a secondary school student who personifies high ethical standards through leadership, community service, overall academic history and personal integrity.
Connecticut Better Business Bureau President, Paulette Scarpetti, says entrants must exemplify high ethical standards in a number of areas.
“The award requires entrants to articulate the essence of ethical values, character and sound moral judgment, not only in school but also from a wider global perspective, and how those values fit into the marketplace and society as a whole.”
A panel of independent judges will select a Connecticut high school junior through evaluation of a written essay.
The scholarship is awarded for use towards paying school-related expenses, such as tuition, books, room and board. Applicants must be Connecticut residents and plan to attend an accredited institution in the United States.
Only applications from high school students currently in their junior year are accepted. A description of requirements and application forms are available online at ct.bbb.org/studentethicsaward, or accessed from a home page link at bbb.org.
The deadline for applications is Friday, June 18, 2010. The Award will be presented at the Better Business Bureau Annual Meeting and Awards Event, this fall. For more information please contact Christine Gaetano at 203-269-2700 extension 100.
