Zenos student Serena Thomas has won the IT training company’s annual talent search competition, The Z Factor.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Zenos student Serena Thomas has won the IT training company’s annual talent search competition, The Z Factor.

The Birmingham Academy student wowed the audience with her rendition of the Jennifer Hudson track, And I Am Telling You.

Serena competed against four other finalists at Zenos’ National Apprentice of the Year Awards ceremony at the Alton Towers Hotel last month (22/10).

Each contestant received comments on their performances from a panel of four judges, who had selected the finalists from the thousands of auditions in the summer. However, on the night the winner was voted for by members of the audience, which included Zenos staff, students and other assorted guests.

Serena, who graduated from the Birmingham Academy in September, was the runaway winner of the competition, attracting almost 50 per cent of the overall vote.

The winning prize was a cheque for £1000, which Serena is planning to invest in furthering her performing career.
