Scott Cummings, “Bodyguard to the Stars,” Makes Movie Debut
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Tampa, FL) – The man who’s made his name—and his living—protecting movie stars, singers and other celebrities just might need his own bodyguard now.
Scott Cummings, protector of everyone from Michael Jackson to Donald Trump to Elton John, steps from behind the scenes to appear in his first motion picture, which is close to being released.
The movie, “The Girl,” is a horror story about a young woman who’s kidnapped, raped, and left for dead in the woods. Only, she doesn’t die, and exacts revenge—by killing.
The titular star is Lisa Neeld, former Playboy model and radio host, who plays “The Girl.”
The film, which opens in Philadelphia on October 30 and Raleigh, NC at midnight on Halloween before working its way nationwide, also stars Ari Lehman, who played Jason Voorhees in the first “Friday the 13th” movie.
And, of course, Cummings, who enjoyed his experience immensely.
“Everyone at Eerie Frequency Entertainment made me feel really comfortable and I had a lot of fun,” Cummings says of the production company that produced the film.
Cummings was also tabbed for duties as co-executive producer because of his familiarity with the entertainment industry and moviemaking, having performed as a bodyguard to stars for years.
The October 30 release date is significant for a horror film such as “The Girl” because the night before Halloween is also known as “Mischief night” in Philadelphia, when police enforce early curfews to combat overzealous kids out for a good time.
Cummings now adds actor to his resume, which already lists author, too. His book, “Michael Jackson’s Bodyguard: An Inside Look at the Rich & Famous,” gives readers exclusive access to the life of a “bodyguard to the stars.”
“It’s not as glamorous as people think,” Cummings says of both his role as real-life bodyguard and that of movie actor. “When I’m working, I’m working hard. And the time spent on movie sets is long and tedious.”
Still, Cummings was thrilled to have the opportunity to act.
“A dream come true. For sure,” he says.
