FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT
Celtic Campervans (www.celticcampervans.com), the premier motorhome rental company in Ireland (wohnmobil vermietung Irland), are proud to announce their sponsorship of Race Around Ireland 2009 this coming September. The 1,350 mile ultra marathon cycling event, which attracts participants from all over the world and which is sanctioned by the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association (UMCA), kicks off in Navan on 15 September 2009 and will see cyclists complete the country-wide loop within five days.
Celtic Campervans will be supplying support motorhomes to Sky Sports who will be covering the event, as well to participants from Ireland and Europe. The first racer the company is pleased to be backing is Holger Roethig from Essen in Germany, racing as part of the TV Kettwig team. Celtic Campervans is also proud to be backing Joe Barr from Ireland, holder of the previous Ireland End to End cycling record. Joe decided to cycle this event on behalf of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children after his one year old son suffered a brain tumour for which he is currently receiving treatment. Celtic Campervans is delighted to be sponsoring and supporting an event which itself is in aid of such a worthy cause as the Ciaran Maree Cancer Research & Development Fund, the official charity partner of Race Around Ireland 2009.
Celtic Campervansí involvement in Race Around Ireland sees them backing a two wheel tour of Ireland, whereas the company specialising in motorhomes for hire in Ireland (wohnmobile zum mieten Irland) are used to sending people on their Irish travels on four wheels. Race Around Ireland does share the freedom of a Celtic Campervans motorhome holiday, however: there are no planned rest stops or stages to the race, nor are there marshals or a roped off route.
Teams of four and eight people will relay 24hours a day to finish inside 96 hours while solo riders will cycle for up to 22 hours per day to be competitive and finish within the allotted 120 hours. This registered Cycling Ireland event has so impressed the UMCA, the world body of ultra endurance cycling, that it has been included as part of their World Cup Series; registered participants already include Germans, Americans, Canadians, Italians and Croatians, as well as English and Irish cyclists.
Celtic Campervans are excited to be sponsoring what is the second toughest cycling event in the world, after the Race Across America. The sponsorship was a natural choice for a company that provides self-drive holidays in Ireland for those who love freedom, adventure and the outdoor life. This is not the first time that the motorhome rental company in Ireland (wohnmobil vermietung Irland) has been involved in sporting endeavours: their modern campervans have been hired by participating triathletes and convoys of rugby fans travelling to see key matches.
