The School of Rock Music All Star Tour selects 10 cities each year in which to perform all ages classic rock music performances. For the first time, the tour will stop in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The SCHOOL OF ROCK ALL-STARS' MIDWEST TOUR schedule has been confirmed and the All Star Tour will stop in Oklahoma City on July 25.

“We haven’t finalized the venue yet but we are thrilled to bring the incredible talent of the next generation of Rock Stars to Oklahoma City,” said Paige Peavler, Regional Director, School of Rock Music. “Our tour stops are generally reserved for cities which have an established School of Rock Music program but the rock musicians of Oklahoma City were so encouraging and supportive of our young talent that we wanted to give back to the OKC rock community as well.”

"The All Stars are the best musicians among the thousands of students nationally studying in the 55+ rock music programs in the Paul Green School of Rock Music system," explains Rick Carney, the tour's Music Director. "The students went through a rigorous selection process in order to secure one of the coveted spots with this elite band. This tour provides them a real-world taste of being a professional musician while providing the audiences an unparalleled night of great music, unlike anything they've ever experienced." After a short pause Carney added, "That isn't just my opinion. During a West Coast tour SF Weekly called the All Stars' performance "jaw-dropping" and national music blog Blah3.com advised, ‘Go see them if you can, you won't be disappointed. They deliver’."

The Oklahoma City tour stop is the second-to-last stop on the 10 day tour, giving the teen musicians (12-18 years old) plenty of time to perfect the rock concert performance.

July 17 Frisco, Texas
July 18 Kansas City, Missouri
July 19 St. Paul, Minnesota
July 20 Chicago, Illinois
July 21 Detroit , Michigan
July 22 Cleveland, Ohio
July 23 Milwaukee, Wisconsin
July 24 St. Louis, Missouri
July 25 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
July 26 Austin, Texas

"These tremendously talented teen musicians (12-18 years old) represent the FUTURE OF ROCK MUSIC. They are the best and brightest students from the School of Rock Music's locations nationwide," added Paige Peavler, Midwest Regional Director. "This all-ages concert is a terrific chance for parents and kids to enjoy a night of rock together...and both generations are guaranteed to enjoy themselves."

School of Rock Music (http://www.schoolofrock.com) students learn, practice and perform locally year-round in their respective School of Rock Music branches. Each February students are invited to audition for the Summer Tour. "Being selected for this tour is like winning an American Music Award for a professional musician," explained Nate Beck, a former All Star Tour member, graduate of the School of Rock and now professional musician.

"It gives you a real taste of what it's like to be a touring musician. For me, the tour confirmed my desire to be a professional musician. That's what makes the School of Rock so much better than other music lessons. Not only do you get excellent music training but you also get the opportunity to perform. And if you take your music seriously you also get exposure to other parts of the business, like touring, to give you a true sense of what a career as a musician is like. I learned more at School of Rock than I did as a student at Musicians' Institute, which is a music college! And, quite honestly the All Stars are as good as, if not better, than a lot of the bands I'm hearing here in L.A.!"
