Lincoln based online retailer Fred’s Clothing, is seeing no signs of the current economic downturn. The company, that trades solely online has seen an increase in revenue for June of 75%, the third consecutive month revenue has increased in like for like sales. Managing Director Tony Ryder was jubilant about the results, “it’s a busy time of year for Fred’s with the festival season in full flow, we are seeing people dig deep to spend on the Internet, stark contrast to the ailing high street” said Tony.
‘”Year on year sales for the first half of 2008 have increased 51%” commented Mr Ryder, “we have seen no sign of a slowdown on the Internet, results are good, average order value is also up showing signs that more customers are adding indulgence products to the basket, is this the sign of an economic downturn?”
The company is gearing up for a successful second half of the year, with the all-important Christmas trading marketing being prepared now. The company is also looking to install a new stock management software package provided by local company Wise Software, “we hope the new package will be live for the final quarter of the year” Mr Ryder suggested.
